The Aga Khan Music Programme has announced that London will host the 2025 Aga Khan Music Awards, taking place from November 20 to 23. Celebrating the immense richness and diversity of these expressions, from profound religious music and poetry to classical, popular, and contemporary styles, the Awards are given to individuals, groups, and institutions whose work preserves and renews musical traditions with contemporary creative visions, fostering spiritual insight, social cohesion, and cultural resilience. The Aga Khan Music Awards honor exceptional achievements in the diverse musical expressions that have emerged within Islamic civilisation, across multiple fields including performance, original composition, education, preservation of heritage, and devotional practices. In this context, Fairuz Nishanova, Director of the Aga Khan Music Programme, said, “The winners of the Aga Khan Music Awards share a cash prize of US$500,000, in addition to professional opportunities including commissions, recordings, management contracts, and support for education and heritage preservation initiatives. In line with the Aga Khan Music Programme’s broader mission, the awards aim to promote pluralism, tolerance, and global understanding through the power of music.”
