Minister Anand meets with His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V

The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V in Vancouver last week to discuss shared priorities related to international development, economic partnerships, affordable housing and regional security. The Minister also highlighted the success of the Generations multi-generational housing initiative across Canada, led by the Ismaili Council for Canada, and underscored that affordable housing remains a priority for the Government of Canada. The Minister recognised the Aga Khan Development Network's (AKDN) long-standing presence and expertise in regions facing complex challenges, including Syria, and highlighted its important development partnerships in Pakistan and East Africa, expressing appreciation for its work towards improving the quality of life through initiatives that address social and economic challenges facing local communities.
