Over the past few days, a door-to-door Covid-19 survey was undertaken in Nizamuddin Basti, following a suspected outbreak and evacuation of 2,300 people from the Markaz building, the headquarters of the Tablighi Jamaat. The survey, which was a collaboration between the Delhi government and municipal teams, drew upon over 50 women volunteers from the community health programme started in 2008 by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture and Tata Trust. Together with other volunteers and staff from AKTC, the surveyors handed out masks and sanitizers in each house while notifying residents about a helpline.
