Nurlan Nogoybaev, originally from At-Bashi, is an aerospace data scientist by profession. After experiencing a difficult childhood and growing up without parental support, he built an impressive international career. Nurlan is currently preparing to study at one of the world's top universities, the University of Cambridge, in the Technology Policy programme, where he will combine technology, economics, and regulation to implement sustainable solutions in real-world aviation policy at the global level. “I was accepted to the University of Central Asia (UCA) in Naryn in the Computer Science programme,” he explains in a recent interview. “My experience studying in Naryn greatly influenced my worldview. For the first two years, we studied the Liberal Arts programme where every subject was tied to Kyrgyzstan. We discussed, for example, how globalisation affects our country, and why the Kyrgyz language is in decline today.”
