Panjshir Governor Pushes for Major Infrastructure Projects Boost

Senior provincial officials in Panjshir convened their inaugural joint session with high-level representatives from the Aga Khan Foundation, the Ministry of Finance, and various development agencies to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the province's most urgent developmental requirements. Governor Hafiz Mohammad Agha Hakim underscored the critical need to finalise pending projects, catalyse fresh initiatives, and broaden ongoing development efforts across multiple sectors—including infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, potable water, tourism, and employment generation. Pointing to Panjshir’s persistent economic constraints and glaring infrastructure gaps, Governor Hakim appealed to donor organisations to prioritise the construction of connective roadways, agricultural enhancements, cold-storage facilities, medical clinics, vocational training, flood-mitigation systems, and other vital public works.
