To ensure its long-term financial stability and support its ambitious growth strategy, the Paris Peace Forum has launched an Endowment Fund, with the goal to constitute a financial reserve that will generate interest to provide reliable year-on-year funding on top of existing donations. The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), one of the Forum’s founding members, is the first donor, with a pledge of 10 million euros. This week, the Paris Peace Forum will be holding the eighth edition of its annual Forum on October 29-30 at the Palais Chaillot, devoted to building “New Coalitions for Peace, People and the Planet.” Leaders from government, international organisations, business, civil society, and academia, including His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims and Chair of the Aga Khan Development Network. “The challenges of our century require institutions that can sustain long-term, courageous work across borders and sectors,” said the Aga Khan. “The Paris Peace Forum has shown it can convene diverse actors and catalyse solutions to some of the world’s most pressing problems. With this pledge, the Aga Khan Development Network is proud to support the Forum’s enduring capacity to innovate for peace and equity.”
