President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, awarded His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, the 'Most Excellent Order of Pearl of Africa, The Grandmaster' to recognise his decades of work and contribution to Uganda’s development on 9 October. His Highness said in a brief speech after being decorated: "“I am honoured to celebrate this day with you as you celebrate 55 years of Independence. I wish to thank the President for inviting me, I will carry this day in my thoughts and in my heart".
