Princess Zahra Aga Khan, daughter of His Highness the Aga Khan, has reaffirmed the Aga Khan Development Network’s (AKDN) support for the development of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Upon her arrival in Gilgit, she met with the Governor, the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, and other government officials. The Chief Minister urged Princess Zahra to expand AKDN’s activities to all remote parts of the region, especially in the fields of health and education. He noted that while the physical infrastructure has been built, there are issues related to the availability of quality health professionals in the region, an area in which AKDN can play a significant role.
