The Tabaqueira neighbourhood, in Rio de Mouro, Portugal, will soon be the stage for a public space cleaning campaign, an initiative promoted by the Sintra City Council, within the scope of the SMILE project. The active citizenship initiative is carried out in partnership with the Parish Council of Rio de Mouro, Municipal Services of Sintra (SMAS), Aga Khan Foundation and Tabaqueira itself. The SMILE project’s goal is to develop innovative technological solutions to mitigate carbon emissions by creating a living decarbonisation laboratory in the Tabaqueira neighbourhood.
