The Telangana government is considering handing over management of the historic Qutb Shahi Tombs complex in Hyderabad to the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), citing the trust's "global experience in monument restoration." The sprawling 120-acre complex, which includes seven royal tombs, is currently managed by only six staff members, creating serious challenges in visitor services, garden care, and structural maintenance. Officials say the final decision will depend on policy review and administrative approvals; if cleared, the partnership "could reshape management of one of Hyderabad's top heritage landmarks."
