The Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC) will assume management of the historic Qutb Shahi Tombs, also known as the Qutb Shahi Heritage Park, along with the restoration works being carried out at the site. The Department of Heritage Telangana, Aga Khan Trust for Culture and Quli Qutb Shah Urban Development Authority have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for 10 years for the management of the heritage park. The Qutb Shahi Tombs are spread across 106 acres and contain more than 100 structures, including the tombs of seven Qutb Shahi rulers. A 10-year agreement was signed in 2013 between the Aga Khan Trust for Culture and the then Andhra Pradesh government for conservation and restoration of the structures. The works are still under way.
