The transformation of almost all structures inside the Qutb Shahi tombs complex is breathtaking. As two phases of the work have been completed, the conservation staff from the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC) are at work in scattered locations inside the sprawling complex. One of the monuments getting attention now is the Hayat Bakshi Begum Masjid. Prashant Banerjee of AKTC said they were removing layers of cement plastering that the mosque was covered with over the past few decades. They are also removing the flooring that changed the height of the floor.
