The Hama Health Directorate, in cooperation with the Aga Khan Health Services, the Local Ismaili Council and civil society associations in Salamiyah, organised an awareness march in Salamiyah on Saturday to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month and World Mental Health Day. Rasha Adra, a health worker in the Salamiyah Health District, said health workers participated to encourage women to undergo early breast cancer screening and to provide appropriate medical care if any participant experienced a medical emergency during the march. As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Salamiyah Health District has organised awareness activities inside and outside health centres. The activities have highlighted breast cancer, the importance of early screening and prevention methods. They have also included answering women’s questions and sharing health awareness messages with the community.
