Essential Community Care (SEC) plays an important role in reducing morbidity and mortality in Mali. To accelerate this reduction, the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene and its partners have adopted a strategy that aims to increase geographical coverage, meet demand, improve the supply and use of services, strengthen governance and resource management and monitor and evaluate the programme. Last week, the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) organised a session to share experiences with all the technical and financial partners. The AKF's Regional Director, Jean-Jacques Meunier, emphasised that AKF's vision and mission remain to contribute to the SEC offer. It is in this context that AKF set up a project called "SecPro" to strengthen the strategy of essential care in the community.
