Tanzania’s Aga Khan Hospital lab earns top ranking in Africa

The Aga Khan Hospital, Dar es Salam (AKH, D) has been ranked among the top 10 laboratories in Africa. The ranking was done by the Randox International Quality Assessment Scheme (RIQAS), one of the world’s largest external quality assessment programmes, which covers more than 10,000 laboratories in 150 countries. The recognition reflects not only technical excellence but also assures patients across Tanzania and beyond that their test results meet international standards. “These achievements are not only a milestone for our hospital but also for the country,” said Chief Executive Officer of Aga Khan Health Service, Tanzania (AKHS,T), Mr Sisawo Konteh. “They show that AKHS,T is not only leading the continent in laboratory standards, patient safety and innovation, but is also an international leader in the field. Our commitment is to ensure that every patient, whether here in Dar es Salaam or across East Africa, receives care rooted in excellence, trust and sustainability,” he added.
