Part of the funds that Tatarstan will receive as the winner of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture will go to attracting experts in the field of Islamic architecture to the republic. This was announced at the press conference by Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Natalia Fishman-Bekmambetova. "For example, we do not have specialists in the field of designing Islamic gardens, this is a fairly serious science with deep roots. We agreed with Mr. Farrokh (Award Director Farrokh Derakhshani) that we will invite the best architects in the world who design Islamic gardens. They will help us design with an understanding of philosophy, with a competent approach to Islamic architecture," she said.
