The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Syria has provided qualitative support to the health sector, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and its provincial directorates, to address the worsening health challenges and meet the most urgent needs that threaten the safety of the population. This is part of its efforts to support the humanitarian response. The first phase began in Hama Governorate, according to Ali Al-Khatib of the Aga Khan Foundation. Two dialysis machines were provided to Salamiyah National Hospital, along with the necessary dialysis supplies sufficient for 1,000 dialysis sessions. Training was also conducted for healthcare workers on how to use the machines and ensure the continuity of services. The Aga Khan Health Services expressed its appreciation to all partners and volunteers who contributed to ensuring that support reached the neediest groups, emphasising its continued commitment to supporting national efforts aimed at strengthening the country's public health system.
