As part of the Master’s in Global Health Programme at McMaster University in Canada, students pass a ten-week field practicum with global health organisations during the Spring/Summer Term. These field practicums are designed to consolidate the learning master’s students gain throughout the programme in a real-life environment, as well as offer an opportunity for students to meaningfully contribute to the work of host organisations. For the first time this year, the Global Health Programme, in collaboration with the Aga Khan University (AKU), was excited to offer field practicum opportunities with AKU’s Centre of Excellence in Women & Child Health East Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. During this inaugural year, three Global Health students, Wania Khan, Cecilia Tuzinde and Safiya Dina, passed their field practicums in Nairobi, contributing to communications, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring and evaluation.
