Kenya’s leading institutions of higher learning, Mount Kenya University, Strathmore University and Riara University have partnered in the inaugural University Public Relations (PR) Challenge, a first-of-its-kind competition aimed at discovering and developing the next generation of public relations leaders. The challenge will be held on 26 August 2025, at Aga Khan University, which also serves as the official academic partner of the initiative. The University PR Challenge brings together student-led teams tasked with solving real-world PR case studies. These case studies, curated by senior industry professionals, focus on critical areas such as crisis communication, brand strategy, digital engagement, and corporate reputation management. “This initiative is not just timely, it is essential. It builds confidence, enhances competence, and gives students authentic exposure to the communication profession,” said Elizabeth Amollo of Riara University.
