On 25 October, during the Rwanda Tourism Regulation ceremony that took place in Kigali, the Kigali Serena Hotel was awarded the five-star category. Rosemary Mbabazi, the Minister for Youth, gave gives a five-star classification plaque to Kigali Serena Hotel managing director Daniel Sambai. A five-star hotel or restaurant has the highest rating and is considered as a world-class facility in areas such as hospitality and service delivery. The exercise is expected to drive facilities to continuously improve in terms of quality.
