The University of Central Asia (UCA) recently established a fund to provide assistance to families suffering as a result of the humanitarian and economic impact of COVID-19. Staff at UCA donated a day’s salary to this fund on a voluntary basis, which will be distributed to families in need. The UCA also distributed food and medical supplies to 500 families in the Kyrgyz city of Naryn identified by the mayor’s office as being in the socially vulnerable category and has prepared 90 beds on the campus grounds for observation zones as part of the mitigation procedures for COVID-19.
