Banana farmers in Uganda have accessed a free virtual Seeds of Gold Farm Clinic, an initiative by Nation Media Group (NMG) to help them to improve selection and management for bananas. The second virtual event, which was conducted from the National Agricultural Research Laboratories Kawanda, highlighted key factors that needed to be considered by farmers to ensure that bananas meet target specifications required by processors and consumers. Elizabeth Namaganda, Head of Marketing at NMG Uganda, said that the Farm Clinic provided farmers with the skills and knowledge to maximise their output and minimise the risk of pests and diseases.
