A bamboo school for underprivileged children in Bangladesh stands on water for a third of the year and could be the potential solution to rising sea levels across the world due to climate change. The Arcadia Education Project also won the 2019 Aga Khan Award for Architecture. It was constructed by Saif Ul Haque Sthapati and run by Maleka Welfare Trust. The bamboo school has enough space for a hostel, a vocational training centre, a preschool, and a nursery. The bamboo school building is spread over 486 square metres and it was primarily constructed with various kinds of bamboo.
