Heritage is of special significance for Ahmedabad. So a visit by experts who have travelled across the world restoring historical structures is bound to attract attention. On 14 December, the first day of the three-day International Conference on Heritage Management Education and Practice at Ahmedabad University had a special presentation by Ashraf Botros, former Head of the Aga Khan Historic Cities Programme (AKHCP). He said that revival projects often have universally applicable lessons, adding that Ahmedabad and other cities could take inspiration from their rehabilitation works, especially in Al Azhar Park and Al Ahmar in Cairo in Egypt.
