Paris, France, 29 October 2025 – His Highness the Aga Khan was received by President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace yesterday. The meeting follows the signing of an agreement with the government of France in July 2025 to work together on a range of projects in education, culture, sustainable development and international cooperation.

In addition to his visit to the Élysée, His Highness held meetings with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot at the Quai d’Orsay to discuss projects and areas of mutual interest between the French government and the Aga Khan Development Network.

Later, His Highness met Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo at the Hotel de Ville in Paris where they discussed the work of AKDN and cultural activities which have been held in Paris.

The visit to France reinforces a well-established relationship spanning decades and multiple areas of endeavour.

Today, His Highness will participate in the opening session of the 8th edition of the Paris Peace Forum. AKDN is a founding member of the Forum, which, this year is entitled: “New Coalitions for Peace, People and the Planet.”
