Guinea-Bissau, 17 and 18 July 2025 – The Ismaili Imamat was represented at the 30th Ordinary Meeting of the CPLP Council of Ministers and the 15th Conference of Heads of State and Government of the CPLP, in Guinea-Bissau on 17 and 18 July 2025.
At the invitation of the Guinean authorities, a delegation led by the Ismaili Imamat's diplomatic representative, Nazim Ahmad, participated at the event, which was attended by Heads of State and Government from all the CPLP countries. Bilateral meetings were held with the President of the Republic of Guinea Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo; the Prime Minister, Rui Duarte Barros; and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities, Carlos Pinto Pereira.
On 18 July, Guinea-Bissau took office as President of the CPLP Council of Ministers for 2025-2027, a moment that for the Ismaili Imamat means an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations with that country and with the entire Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries.
