Om Habibeh Foundation Signs Agreement with Aswan University, January 2015- The Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) in Aswan, signed an agreement with Aswan University to further develop the institutional relationship with the two organisations, specifically around the strengthening of the quality of education at the Faculty of Nursing, and the improvement of employability skills of Aswan University Students. As part of the agreement, OHF will offer English courses for 3,000 Aswan University students from various faculties to improve their chances of gaining employment after graduation. The signing ceremony was attended by University President and Vice President as well as the OHF team.
AKF to Implement the Aswan Skills Development Programme, January 2015 - The Department for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development has announced a grant to AKF to implement the Aswan Skills Development Programme in Egypt, in collaboration with Manitoba’s Red River College. The project, which will help approximately 6,000 young women and men in the Aswan region, is designed to strengthen the quality and impact of vocational, technical and professional training programmes. The initiative will focus on improving access to relevant job skills development and employment services for unemployed or underemployed youth. The project will seek to provide training in a number of areas, which may include both the tourism and electricity sectors.
Om Habibeh Foundation signs agreement with the Ministry of Education, September 2014 - The Om Habibeh Foundation and the Ministry of Education signed today a five year Partnership Agreement that will increase and strengthen co-operation in the field of Early Childhood Development in the Aswan Governorate. The Partnership Agreement was signed by Malik Kotadia, CEO of the Om Habibeh Foundation and Mohammad Hawwaty, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education in Aswan, in the presence of Mostafa Yousry Attalah, the Governor of Aswan and Mohammad Mustafa, General Secretary of the Governorate of Aswan. Under the Partnership Agreement the Om Habibeh Foundation will provide further support for Early Childhood Development (ECD) teachers and centres, deepening its current involvement and enhancing the impact and success of the collaborations it has undertaken at government-run ECD centres in the Aswan governorate. Since 2005, the programme has worked with 5,895 children and trained over 150 teachers and facilitators.
