The Aga Khan Education Services Early Learning Centre (AKELC) in Dubai was a runner up in two key categories at the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) Conference and Awards Ceremony in Manchester, England. AKELC teacher Fazilat Notta was runner up for the "Best Practitioner of the Year" award, while Aga Khan Early Learning Centre was runner up for the "Best International Nursery Award."
Kelli Allen, Head of Nursery and Preschool, remarked that “considering there were hundreds of nurseries who were considered for these awards, we are very honoured to have even been shortlisted and recognised. We will continue to work towards providing an exemplary high quality programme in the field of Early Childhood Education."
Parents, as well as a committee in the United Kingdom, voted on the awards. One parent said, "The Aga Khan Early Childhood Centre goes above and beyond in every aspect. The teachers, staff and facility are all great." Another parent, Ushma, said: "From the most beautiful premises, to the most encouraging environment, AKELC helped our child thrive and find her own space and this has made us happy, confident parents."
Many thanks go out to the NDNA and the parents who voted for Aga Khan Early Learning Centre. AKELC is honoured by this recognition.
