At the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa, exceptional sports facilities and physical education prepare students for real life situations and encourage them to take leadership roles confidently and in a spirit of cooperation. The facilities are considered an important part of supporting Africa's next generation of leaders.

“A new school looks to a better world, for it exists to help students develop the character, intellect and mental resilience that will enable them to prosper in circumstances that we can only imagine.” His Highness the Aga Khan speaking at the Inauguration Ceremony of the Aga Khan Academy, Kilindini, Mombasa, Kenya, 20 December 2003.
