A gardener tends to the tree nursery at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge, Kenya. The Lodge began its forestation programme in 1991. Only indigenous trees are selected, especially those well adapted to the drought and salinity challenges of the area, such as Acacia and Croton. The trees provide large herds of elephants and other savannah wildlife a much-needed canopy; and provide a natural barrier between the Park and the Lodge.
