At the AKDN dHRC Innovation Lab, engineers and developers conduct cutting-edge research to ideate, design, develop and test high-impact, cost-effective innovative devices that respond to healthcare delivery challenges in low-resource settings. The Innovation Lab was established in 2014.
Leveraging the exponential growth in mobile technologies, AKDN dHRC also focuses on mobile application development to address health issues prevalent in low- and middle-income countries. We develop and implement mHealth apps to create awareness in target populations, streamline processes and empower governments to monitor their healthcare system. The aim is to strengthen health systems and improve the health outcomes of poor and medically underserved communities.
Our 3D printers enable production of healthcare solutions at a low cost, significantly improving quality of life. We also develop tools that help reduce geographical and spatial barriers in remote and rural areas, facilitating the delivery of equitable health care.
