Each Aga Khan Academy benefits from the combined experience of the network of Academies and the Aga Khan Schools, as well as from partnerships with other AKDN agencies and global institutional networks. These links enable the development of innovative programming and help ensure world-class standards of excellence.
Each Academy is able to leverage the experience and connections of both the other Academies and AKDN. This includes the intellectual and programmatic resources of AKDN institutions such as the Aga Khan University, the University of Central Asia, the Aga Khan Education Services, the Aga Khan Foundation and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture.
Grade 9 students at the Academies in Hyderabad, Maputo and Mombasa may undertake semester-long international exchanges at other Academies. Diploma Programme-level students also participate in service internships with AKDN-affiliated programmes.
Both AKDN and the Aga Khan Academies have established partnerships and agreements with reputed educational institutions including the International Baccalaureate and Cambridge International Education. Leading universities with whom we partner include:
The Aga Khan Academy in Maputo is the third in the network of Aga Khan Academies. It follows the highly successful model established by the first two Academies in Mombasa and Hyderabad.

Each Academy works in harmony with the governing bodies of its host country.
AKDN has established a formal relationship with the International Baccalaureate (IB) through a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations. The aim is for all Aga Khan Academies to be IB World Schools, closely linked to the network of IB institutions in over 125 countries. The Academies are approved workshop providers for both the IB and Cambridge International Education.
Connections with global institutions and networks enable the Academies to test and validate their standards of excellence, and allow for enhanced collaborative programming. These partnerships contribute to the quality of the curriculum and professional development programmes, and ensure that the Academies maintain and enhance their academic quality.
