During a webinar titled "Karachi’s Hidden Forest on the Edge of Delta", organised by the Aga Khan University’s Sixth Sense Forum, architect Tariq Alexander Qaiser shared his observations and documentary evidence and highlighted threats to mangroves lying off the city’s coast, particularly those existing in and around Bundal and Khiprianwala Island located off Karachi’s coast. He called for their protection, urging the government to declare Bundal as a marine protected area. He emphasised that the city of Karachi needed green spaces such as these that should be preserved to act as carbon sinks.
