Since 20 April, a major portion of Qutb Shahi tombs complex has been accessible to citizens as the Telangana government and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC) marked the completion of the first phase of work. A small exhibition of photographs showed the transformation of the monuments. AKTC CEO Ratish Nanda said: "We will carry on the work on rest of the monuments and hope to see it completed by the deadline. We have done our part of work. Now, it is for the citizens of Hyderabad to own this and preserve it for posterity."
