The Aga Khan University in Nairobi organised a two-day heart symposium that brought together various health practitioners. The conference, whose theme was the "Heart in Medicine", adressed the inter-relation between heart disease, sedentary lifestyles and other ailments. The participants also discussed other diseases such as HIV, kidney failure, diabetes, or cancer and respiratory infections.
